It was the National day military parade a few weeks back. The majority was wearing dark colors and watching into the sky. He was carrying his tennis bag and looking for someone on the ground.

Sunday Bridges - Cyan Footbridge

More than 60 traffic accidents occur in Belgrade every day. In 70 percent of cases the pedestrians are involved. Below this footbridge is a busy street with heavy trucks, buses and cars. At least on this place crossing the street is not a roulette.

Bajrakli Mosque

The only preserved Belgrade mosque (out of more than two hundred), built around 1660 and 1688.

It will shine again

My favourite historical building, constructed in 1739, currently under (slow) renovation. It's the oldest preserved Ottoman style residential building in Belgrade. Obviously kids don't care but will when they grow up.

Sunday Bridges - One of Four

The city of two million people, two rivers and only four bridges for pedestrians and cars. Every thirty years, one more bridge is built. We are patient, yeah.

Above them was the Branko's Bridge carrying around 90,000 vehicles each day, producing the daily noise level of more than 70 decibels. But all they needed was to rest and talk quietly.

Purple haze

One day the Sava River banks will be clean and old ships will be removed. The Old Sava Bridge will be pedestrianized and no one will know what the winter smog was.

Skywatch Friday - Staring at the sun

Hidden treasure

This street was the commercial and financial center of Belgrade one hundred years ago. "Savamala" today is neglected with abandoned houses and heavy trucks on pothole streets. But in all that noise and pollution, the spirit of old Belgrade still can be felt. One of my favorite parts of the city.

This kiosk belongs to "Pecina", the famous city popcorn brand and my favorite. For those who care, the bottle of oil stands as a reminder of calories.
